Dangerous Goods & Safety
Some of our best products go bang — which means some of our range is classified as dangerous goods and comes with rules. Here's everything you need to know to buy, receive, store and fire them safely and legally.
What counts as dangerous goods
Handheld confetti cannons, electric (single-use) cannons, and SFX fluids are classified as dangerous goods for transport. For our cannons, the classification relates to the small compressed nitrogen canister that powers them — Class 2.2 (non-flammable, non-toxic gas). The confetti itself is flame-retardant paper or metallic film.
Shipping restrictions
- Dangerous goods ship by road freight only — never by air or express post. This is a legal requirement, not our choice.
- We dispatch dangerous goods within Australia only.
- Delivery may take longer than standard parcels depending on your location and the road-freight network.
- Dangerous goods cannot be returned by post. See our Refund Policy — change-of-mind returns aren't available on these items.
Age requirement
You must be 18 or over to purchase cannons and SFX fluids. By ordering these products you confirm you are 18+.
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources and open flames.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not disassemble, modify or attempt to refill single-use cannons.
Safe use
- Read the instructions on the product before use. Handheld cannons: remove the seal, hold away from your body, aim up and away from people, twist to fire.
- Handheld cannons throw approximately 6–12 metres; electric cannons approximately 8–12 metres when fired from Power Shot devices. Keep at least the throw distance clear of people, especially faces.
- Our confetti is flame-retardant and colourfast, and suitable for indoor and outdoor use — but always follow your venue's requirements.
- Electric cannons must only be fired using our Power Shot launch devices or compatible professional systems, operated by a competent person.
- Never point any cannon at people, animals, or fragile objects.
Professional equipment
Electric cannon systems, installation hardware and SFX fluids are intended for trained or professional users. If you're not sure whether a product suits your event or experience level, call us before you buy — we'd rather talk you into the right product than the wrong one: (03) 9416 8766.
Liability
Products must be used in accordance with their instructions and applicable laws and venue rules. To the extent permitted by law, and without limiting your Australian Consumer Law rights, we are not responsible for injury, loss or damage arising from misuse of products, use by persons under the required age, or use contrary to instructions.
